Youths Today, Leaders Tomorrow

In the 2021 National Youth Survey, finances emerged as a key stressor that impacts youths’ overall development. Planning for a financially resilient future can be a challenge, particularly when you wish to balance aspirations with reality.

CGS-CIMB Securities and Republic Polytechnic are jointly organising the 2022 National Financial Literacy Campaign for Youths with the aim of nurturing and empowering Singapore’s tertiary students with lifelong skills in managing personal finances and investing for a sustainable future.

Through a two-pronged approach, this Campaign focuses on equipping youths with relevant financial knowledge which can be put into practice in the 2022 National Investment Challenge.

About the 2022 National Investment Challenge

Through specially curated webinars and sharing by industry experts, participants will gain insights which focus on developing a unique trading plan and more importantly, managing risks. Participants can then apply these learnings in the 2022 National Investment Challenge, which will run for 8 weeks between October and December 2022. The key parameters of the Challenge are:

Investment Capital: Simulated trading account with a balance of S$5,000

To mirror estimated initial capital students may have set aside for investments in real life

Products: Contract for Differences (CFD) Equities

To learn more about leveraged products and the risks involved

Markets: Singapore and USA

To provide participants with a wider exposure

Your Learning Journey

Do not worry if you know nothing about the financial markets! By the end of our webinar series, you will learn how to find stocks, read charts, manage your account and more importantly, know what you need to do to get better every day. Learning is a journey, not a destination.

The Financial Literacy webinar series started on 5 Sept 2022. Participants will receive a link to watch the webinars. Past webinars can be viewed on our YouTube page (links below). More details can be found in the section below.
